Everest Poker is the embodiment of post-UIGEA success. Having adopted a European focused multilingual approach, Everest Poker beat the odds and attained true growth after the 2006 UIGEA essentially put US players out of its reach. Everest Poker features top notch software, complete with all the features a modern poker room should have, and it offers its new players a $300 lump-sum sign-up bonus which only requires a minimum deposit of $10.

Everest Poker Review

Everest Poker used to be one of those fairly large European poker sites that the American public used to appreciate, too. Certainly, we will no longer be able to assess their popularity this side of the pond, since they do not accept U.S. players anymore.
Traffic has been known to be somewhat of a problem in the past, especially in non-peak hours, and the UIGEA-created mess wasn’t about to help that situation, but there has been steady growth during the 2nd half of 2007 as the Everest refused to fold in the face of adversity. More so, nowadays they’re back on track towards becoming a hit again with the poker public. One of their stronger points is the high number of live-event satellites that they host. The tournament system isn’t half bad either, as for the rest of what they have to offer you, the poker player, please read below.
Everest Poker was among the first sites on the web, which featured multi-language support, and it is, to this day, available in 16 different languages.
If you’re a rookie, it is a great place to start your online poker endeavor: its software features tutorials specially designed to make rookie feel comfortable with the games as soon as possible.

Overview and Player Traffic

As I wrote above, Everest is a medium-size poker room these days, and the traffic that they get reflects that fact. During peak hours however, there is some pretty good tournament action unfolding, and the higher limit cash tables also get their fill.
Note that because of the fact that almost all of Everest’s player base hails from Europe, peak hours will be in the evening and late at night, European time.
There are rookies at Everest, quite many of them actually, so I’ll have to say the competition is light.

Everest Poker Software

Graphics-wise, the software is good. The avatars look good, card graphics are well-readable (I understood there were problems with that in the past) and play is fast and stable.
The lobby has also gone through some recent improvements. Everything considered, the software gets the big thumbs-up. Everest Poker also has casino games under their brand Everest Casino.

Deposit and Sign up Bonuses

The first deposit bonus is $300 free, which means that as soon as you open a real money account you get your cash. You still have to redeem it though, by making use of Summit Points (get it? Everest Poker-summit). Anyway, you have to generate 100 Summit Points for every $7 of your bonus, by playing in raked hands.
Unlocking all your bonus will probably take up quite some time, especially of you’re a low to micro limit player, so you’d better get to multi tabling if you want to go anywhere fast in this respect.

Everest Poker Promotions

From what I hear, Everest Poker used to be quite poor in promotions. What I can tell you is that that is no longer the case.
Besides the above-mentioned first-deposit bonus, Everest features a whole bunch of pretty interesting promotions. They have a refer-a-friend setup, which makes it possible for you to earn $50 for every friend that you refer. The more people you bring into the fold, the more money you can make.
I mentioned in the beginning of this article that Everest Poker was especially big on satellites for live land-based events. By playing at Everest, you’ll be able to qualify to a Portuguese live poker event with satellites starting from as little as $3+$0.3, you can win a trip to Las Vegas, for you and a friend of yours, a package worth no less than $5,000.
Everest Poker also organizes both live and online satellites for the Copa Española, a live Spanish Event with a prize pool totaling 30,000 EUR.
The “Live the dream” promotion is by far one of the most generous ones in online poker – in my humble opinion. Through it, Everest Poker will give 10 lucky players the chance to live like a pro, attending prestigious WPT (World Poker Tour), WSOP (World Series of Poker) and EPT (European Poker Tour) events, for a year.
Whoever said Everest Poker was stingy with their promotions? It doesn’t look like that to me at all. Add to all the above the “Survive the workweek” promotion, which offers special prizes for players every night, among which there’s $300 tourney entry.

In conclusion, EverestPoker is a pretty good poker destination. Many of the negative points you may find highlighted in older reviews have been corrected by the site. Their software is unique, looks great, and at a closer analysis, you’ll realize there’s a lot more potential in the room than what’s being exploited currently. Bottom line: the traffic will continue to grow.
