Roulette is a typical non-skilled casino game where chance dictates the entire outcome. Outside of wheel bias, which takes months or even years of dedication and practice, there is no skillful way to beat the house. You merely pick the number/section you want and hope that the wheel spins in your favor.

Interestingly enough though, there are a number of people who think that roulette games aren't based on chance at all. Instead, they believe there are certain rituals/actions that can influence the outcome. Here is a quick look at some of these roulette myths that players still carry today.

Myth #1: Lucky Numbers bring more Profits

Have a lucky sports number, or just any set of digits that have brought you luck in the past? Some of those who answer 'yes' to this question may end up playing their lucky numbers on the roulette wheel while hoping for more profits. This is a fun little belief to have when playing roulette, but unfortunately, it won't bring you any extra money.

Myth #2: Watch Trends because they can get you Winnings

One roulette myth that seems logical is the idea that trends will somehow bring you more money. For instance, if red wins six times in a row with the red/black wager, some people will continue to bet red in thinking that the hot streak will continue. However, the thing to keep in mind here is that all future results are independent of the last spin. So it doesn't matter how many times a certain number/section comes up because the next spin is totally random.

Myth #3: Systems are Golden

One more myth that we'd like to smash is the idea that betting systems like the Martingale are guaranteed winners. Some people will come up with elaborate, mathematical systems and guarantee that they bring profits; certain players even charge money for their systems! But the truth is that no system - besides wheel bias - has ever been proven to consistently beat the casino.

As you can see, there are quite a few strange and interesting myths about roulette out there. However, you'd be much better off not subscribing to these myths and just having fun with the game instead.
