Given the fact that Poker Stars is among the biggest online poker rooms still accepting U.S. players, you’d probably be right to expect some pretty hefty bonus offers and some outstanding promotions from them.
Since bonuses are a pretty big factor in poker bankroll building nowadays, they’re by no means something you should ever underestimate or overlook.
There are two types of bonuses (first deposit, and reload ones) and – as the saying goes – PokerStars is loaded with both. The first deposit bonus is a great initial push to your bankroll (even though you have to work pretty hard to have it unlocked) and PokerStars is very generous with it. They’ll give you 100% match on your first deposit up to $50. Now then, you might say $50 is not exactly impressive compared to what other poker rooms offer, but in light of the fact that a very small percentage of players ever deposits more than $50 at once, I’d say it’s quite enough.
In order to redeem this bonus, you’ll have to generate FPPs worth 10 times the bonus amount.
The 100% first deposit bonus is valid only through 2007, so make sure you join PokerStars before December 31st, 2007, in order to take advantage of it.
As nice and as enticing a first deposit bonus may seem, veteran poker players know that poker is a game, which is won in the long-run. As such, the best kind of bonus there is, is the reoccurring reload or loyalty bonus. Not only does it provide added value to the player receiving it, it also keeps players coming back for more, which is excellent for the poker room. Anyway you look at it, it’s a win-win situation. Since it’s basically a no-brainer, PokerStars was fast to recognize the value in such bonuses (unlike many other poker rooms).
Pokerstars will feature reload bonuses from time to time, which will be announced on the website, and in the poker-client itself, or they will be sent out to players in email.
