Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) - Season 1
I suppose you’ve realized by now that Poker Stars doesn’t play around with small change, when it comes to organizing live events and generous online ones.
The APPT is another high-profile event that is meant to make poker popular in one of the most densely populated areas of the globe: the Asia-Pacific region. Given the fact that buy-ins will range from $2,500 to $5,000, it will probably be one of the richest poker tours to date.
Naturally, you’ll be able to qualify for one of the events that make up the Tour, through PokerStars satellites, and if you’re lucky, you can do it for as little as $22.
People who win one of these satellites, will not only gain entry to one of the events, they’ll also get a package worth $5,000.
Given the nature of the Tour, if you qualify or decide to buy into one of the three NL Texas Holdem tournaments, you’ll almost certainly meet some high-profile poker players from all over the world.
The tour kicks off in Manila between August 24th to 26th, then moves on to Seoul, Korea on September 28th, and comes to a $5,000 buy-in conclusion, in December, in the Star City Casino in Sydney, Australia. There are some details of the APPT that are not yet known, so keep your eyes on the PokerStars.com website for news on that.
Keep in mind that this is just the debut season for the APPT, it’s bound to get bigger, better, not to mention richer in the future.
